The ISG consortium is active since 2011 and was granted a prolonged research activity period (A second phase) until 2016. The consortium includes leading Israeli companies and academic research institutes operating together under the MAGNET Program, in the office of the Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Economics in Israel. The consortium is targeting to develop next-generation unified technologies for Smart Grid monitoring & control and communication networks for the new era of the Electrical Grid.

The ISG consortium is focused on the smart grid of the future, addressing issues such as Hierarchical grid management, solar power control, Energy Storage, Distributed Resources, Demand response, grid security and advanced communication networks.
